The flow
The flow is the same across all four modes, which is deliberate — a teacher learns it once. What changes between them is how much control is applied, not how you get started.
Create the exam, quiz, deck or presentation in the builder. Add questions by hand or paste them in bulk. Set the timing, the sections, and how much monitoring you want — from none at all for a revision session to the full set for a final.
Every session produces a short ID. Candidates open the join page, enter the ID, and — for anything protected — a passcode you control. There is no account for students to create and no software for them to install, which matters when they are on school-managed devices.
The dashboard shows who has joined, who is still working, and what the system has flagged. You can pause, resume, extend, or close the session at any point. In quiz mode you see the leaderboard build question by question.
Objective questions mark themselves the moment a candidate submits. Written responses go to the grading queue. Alongside every submission sits the session record: when it opened, every focus change, and anything the system flagged for a human to look at.

Honest limits
Online proctoring has earned a fair share of its criticism. Systems that record hours of video in students' bedrooms, that treat looking away from the screen as suspicious, or that use automated scoring to accuse people have caused documented harm — particularly to students with disabilities, students in shared housing, and students whose appearance or connection quality falls outside what a model was tuned for. Any honest description of this technology has to start there.
So here is ours, including the parts that are limitations:
The underlying view: assessment security is a policy problem that software supports, not one software solves. A well-designed exam — one that asks candidates to apply knowledge rather than recall it, that varies between sittings, and that comes with a clearly communicated integrity policy — does more for fairness than any monitoring feature. Proctoring should be the last layer, not the first.

Who it is for
For routine classwork, most teachers use the lighter end: a quiz code on the board, or a passcode-protected unit test with focus tracking and instant marking. Setup takes minutes, which matters when you are running several assessments a week and cannot spend an hour configuring each one.
Degree-affecting papers typically use the full set — identity check, camera monitoring, watermarking, full session logging. The priority here is defensibility. If a result is challenged at a misconduct hearing, the institution needs a record of what actually happened rather than an invigilator's recollection.
A certificate is worth what the assessment behind it is worth. These users care most about the audit trail and about watermarking, because question banks that leak have to be rewritten at real expense.

Questions
No. Everything runs in a standard browser on desktop, laptop, tablet or phone. There is no lockdown browser and no administrator rights required — which matters for candidates on shared or school-issued devices they cannot install software on.
Answers save continuously. The candidate rejoins with the same exam ID and passcode and resumes where they stopped. The interruption appears in the session log, so the invigilator can see it was connectivity rather than a deliberate exit.
No — it is set per session by whoever created it, and can be switched off entirely. When it is required, candidates are told before the session begins so they can raise concerns or request an alternative arrangement in advance.
Not for joining. A session ID and, where used, a passcode are enough. Teachers and proctors do need an account to build and run sessions.
The institution that created the session. Responses and session records belong to them and they control retention. Details are in the privacy policy.
